The Guitar is made of wood. Wood will be affected by climatic conditions. It will contract in hot environments and expand in cold conditions. When the Guitar is exposed to air conditioning for prolonged periods while being kept in a room or carried in the aeroplane, the cold condition and air pressure will affect the instrument. The summer heat will also spoil the wooden instrument. So you have to use a hand-held humidifier.
You can get it from any music store at affordable cost. Then the strings have to be taken utmost care. When you travel with a Guitar, you have to see that it is snuggled in its case and the strings are loosened. The life of the strings is about a week for regular use of the instrument. Hence you need to change the strings in time and the brand and quality of the strings are also important factors you have to look into. The oils from your hands and the usual wear and tear due to the finger movements will affect the frets in due course. Hence the fret has to be wiped off well immediately after use every time.
By taking care of your Guitar by exercising the above tips you can give longer life to your instrument and enjoy it for a long time.
