There are various activities that can be performed by the guitarist to get improvised in playing the guitar. To begin with, the jam tracks have to be experimented. The progression of the 12 bar blues are standardized. This will be very easy for the players to keep in memory and will know the progression rate and thus will also learn to foresee the changes of the chord. Some of the notes available in the blues are wrong and if the player plays this wrong notes will not damage much his play and on the contrary he they may get extra points for learning to play this wrong notes.

Learning more things at a time will lead to confusion and learning to play the licks at a stretch will be difficult. Hence it is better to invent some of the licks on the paper that will make the learning easily for the players. First they need to write 1 or the 2 bar licks on the paper and then start learning to play it by heart. Then playing it with the jam track and alternatively with the licks will give an improved response. With this experience the novel lick can be modified.

It is also better to pick only 3 or 4 notes rather than picking up the whole scale. By playing the selected licks continuously the players have to improve the notes playing and thus learn more and more from it.
